Fast Fashion - Inexpensive clothing produced rapidly by mass-market retailers in response to the latest trends. The Fast Fashion industry is one of the most leading industries in polluting our planet. From water pollution, the use of toxic chemicals and the increasing levels of textile waste. Which seems to be a big price to pay for things that we care so little for and dispose of so easily. Since day dot, my brands ethos is to create luxury items that become items of sentiment. Items that can be passed down generations whilst still being appreciated for their design and quality. You could say my brand supports and celebrates ‘Slow Fashion’. Crest Commission.

Alongside my latest commissioned piece, I was also asked to produce another based on a family crest for a gentleman's birthday. The customer wanted me to take the crest, and use the traditional aspects with a more overall abstract and contemporary feel. The desired colours were majority blues/teals, with small amounts of golds or burnt oranges.With my recent love for the geometric aesthetic, I thought this crest would work really well due to its array of shapes.I started by sketching out the crest with nib and ink, and then tracing my own drawing with a more definite line. 60th Birthday Commission.

A fellow creative in fashion commissioned me to produce a bespoke scarf for her Aunties 60th birthday, which for me is a big compliment! Her Aunty is an abstract artist, who's work is very different to my style and approach to art, which instantly made me question my own ability. But I couldn't resist the challenge. I started by having a look at her lovely work, and picking out a piece that most appealed to me, this piece being: I liked the layered, unusual detailed shapes, along with it's simplistic colour way.As my customer is a follower of my work, she had noticed my more recent designs which involved a combination of feminine, delicate watercolours along with bold geometric shapes....

Enter Summer with Style.

  I may be writing this while it's pouring down outside WITH gales!? But summer is sneaking up on us ever so quickly, so it's that time of year to bring out our pretty prints and lace like fabrics for when we do have the right season. If you're like me, I like to update my wardrobe with a couple of statement pieces, but incorporate what I already have to create new looks. And you can do that with accessories too. At the moment I'm loving using a statement scarf as a neck tie or bow. I have been using the pocket squares to create the same look- they look just as 'chic', with minimum effort.
